The Holy Habit of Time With God

  • But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer. Luke 5:16

  •  Read it. 
    • But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God Matthew 4:4
  • Study it. 
    • Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
  • Memorize it. 
    • I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Psalms 119:11

1-4 -- Never
5-7 -- Sometimes
8-10 -- Always

  • I will confirm my covenant with you and your descendants after you, from generation to generation. This is the everlasting covenant: I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you. Genesis 17:7
  • For it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of all our ancestors—who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this. Acts 3:13
  • Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God. Hebrews 11:10

Even in the new testament, people were referring to Abraham and his family.
